Crafting, Fall, and Halloween

Ok. I think it's most definately time to actually make this blog about something. Things that I like. Things that I do. Things that I find online. (that is a lot of things : )

I am a crafter...a dabbler...and a massiver horder. (that last one isn't something to brag about, but yes I find something crafty and on sale!! bonus and yes I buy it. So I have many many watercolor paper pads, canvas pads, all kinds of paints, pencils, oil pastels, make your own greeting card sets, markers, fixitive spray, resin, molds, jewelery findings, papers, etc. (I even have a few wooden plaques, a blank wooden star wand, and three massive jewelry boxes that I need to paint. Maybe someday...oh and I forgot the three sewing machines with fabrics and patterns gallore.

Anyway. What's this post about Val? Besides my massive amount of scatterbrained typings. Being an artist and those of you who are and have tried to sell online you know that this is the drop dead last time you have to paint something or make something halloween and get it posted on ebay! There is a limited window for holiday seasonal items to really get a grab of attention. I searched ebay the other day to see if I was slightly early on getting halloween items out there. Well to my suprise there were quite a few halloween related paintings and aceo cards all with bids. I will be making some halloween paintings to sell tomorrow : ) But for now, to get this blog on the road, I am going to share some findings with you to help inspire you to create.

Candy Corn
Pattern
You Need:
--5 White Pony Beads
--15 Orange Pony Beads
--6 Yellow Pony Beads
--2' Satin Cord
--1 Lanyard Hook

Basic Instructions:
Fold your ribbon in half to find the center. Use a half hitch (see detail below) to secure it to lanyard hook. Lace beads using pattern at right as a guide. Finish by tying off with a double knot.
